Stay At Cuyabeno Lodge

Embark on this unforgettable journey to discover all there is to know about the wildlife in the Cuyabeno region. This three-day tour offers an in-depth look into the diverse fauna of the area, where you’ll encounter a variety of animals including birds, monkeys, anacondas, alligators, and more!

DAY 1

The adventure kicks off with your arrival at the village of Lago Agrio, a border town known for its oil industry. From here, private transportation will take us to the Cuyabeno Bridge, where we’ll meet our guide. Lunch will be provided either at a local restaurant or at the hostel.

Once our guide completes the registration at the National Park, we will embark on a two-hour journey on a motorized canoe along the Cuyabeno River, also known as “the river of kindness”. This route offers breathtaking views teeming with wildlife as we head towards the Laguna Grande. Keep your camera ready for sightings of monkeys, anacondas, alligators, toucans, macaws, and more! A truly unique expedition!

Upon arrival, we will take a brief respite at the lodge before venturing out to explore the remarkable Laguna Grande for birdwatching and searching for pink dolphins. As dusk falls, we’ll be treated to an unparalleled vista.

We’ll return to the lodge for dinner and prepare to rest amidst the night sounds of the rainforest, gearing up for the second day of this adventure.

DAY 2

Following breakfast, we will embark on a short canoe ride to access one of the trails in the National Park. As we trek through the Tierra Firme Forest, our guide will share insights on medicinal plants, the ecosystem, and the indigenous life within the forest.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing break before our next adventure as we continue to explore the flooded forest by canoe to observe the native flora and fauna of this area.

Post-dinner, we will embark on a night sighting expedition with flashlights, seeking out more species that will enchant us with their presence in nature.

DAY 3

Your day can begin with an optional birdwatching session amidst the morning calm of the jungle. After breakfast, we commence our return journey, concluding our adventure with a final glimpse of the astonishing wildlife in this region. We will head back to the Cuyabeno Bridge and, from there, take a private vehicle back to Lago Agrio.
