Tour Description

Your adventure begins early as you depart from Quito and travel along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes, a spectacular scenic route surrounded by mountains, valleys, and breathtaking Andean landscapes. Upon arrival at Cotopaxi National Park, you will hike through high-altitude grasslands and pristine Andean wilderness until reaching Limpiopungo Lagoon, where you can admire stunning views of Cotopaxi Volcano and capture unforgettable photographs.

Weather and operational conditions permitting, you can continue to the higher elevations of Cotopaxi. A vehicle will take you to the parking area near the José Rivas Refuge, located at approximately 4,800 meters above sea level. From there, you can hike to the refuge and experience the spectacular beauty of this high-mountain environment. (Optional visit)

After exploring Cotopaxi National Park and enjoying time to relax and take photos, you will stop for lunch along the route (not included). You will then begin your return journey to Quito, traveling once again along the Avenue of the Volcanoes and bringing to a close a memorable day filled with spectacular scenery and authentic Andean adventure.
