The adventure commences around 8 am at Calderón Park, where we set off on a 40 to 60-minute journey to reach the breathtaking Cajas National Park.
Upon entering the park, we embark on a hike along the designated trails, allowing us to observe and connect with the native flora and fauna.
As we continue, we explore the marked paths of the Polylepis forest. This unique forest, home to polylepis trees, also known as queñuas, thrives at high altitudes. These trees are well-adapted to extreme conditions, boasting slender trunks and twisted branches.
After several hours of traversing diverse landscapes, we pause to savor a satisfying lunch at a traditional restaurant.
